George Washington vs. Thomas Jefferson
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are two very influential people in the making of the United States of America. Out of these two people, I think George Washington was more important in the making of this nation. Washington was first the general of the Continental Army in the American Revolution against Great Britain. Without his knowledge and leadership as one of the greatest leaders, we would not have became a separate nation from the rule of Great Britain. Washington lead 2,500 soldiers across the Delaware River and he planned it all. He also kept this entire army confident and trained during a harsh winter at Valley Forge where he also developed the first vaccinations to keep his men healthy. General Washington showed leadership and discipline during this war and this helped America become its own country. Even though Thomas Jefferson did write the Declaration of Independence, which formally declared our independence from Great Britain, Washington fought and won the war with his soldiers.
George Washington was asked to become the first President of the United States of America and during which he made many precedents that to this day our Presidents still follow. He showed leadership throughout his 2 terms and achieved a lot for our nation. He ended the first civil act upon the U.S. which was the Whiskey Rebellion and he claimed neutrality during the war with France and Great Britain. Washington was a very influential person that helped grow our nation into a stronger country. Without him we would not be a separate nation and we would not have the freedoms that we have today.
